I Can Dig It!

March 28, 2010

Whooo…its Sunday night and you know what that means! Another round of “What Should I Watch This Week?” Or as I like to call it, “I Can Dig It!”  So, let’s dig in.

1. In Plain Sight  Wednesdays 10 p.m. on USA Network

The season premiere of this show starts this Wednesday, and I advise everyone to turn in!

I admit, while I did watch the entire first season, I lost interest in the second. But I did see the finale and O-M-G, I can’t wait to see this new premiere.

For all those who don’t know, In Plain Sight focuses on U.S. Marshals who get and try to keep people in the Witness Protection Program.

Of course, there’s the guy-girl dynamic – in this case being between two Marshals, and partners, Mary Shannon and Marshall Mann. Marshall loves Mary, but Mary is a little rough around the edges and has a complicated relationship with Raphael Ramirez, a baseball player.

*SPOILER ALERT*

In last season’s finale, Mary got shot and in (yet another classic TV cliffhanger) somewhat critical will-she-or-won’t-she survive condition. Since the show pretty much revolves around her, I’m going to guess that she lives. But! I haven’t seen the episode yet so check in on Wednesday to find out!

Season 3 trailer:

2. Bones  Thursdays at 8 p.m. on FOX

FINALLY! IT’S BACK!

Even though I haven’t mentioned it previously, I have good reason. This fantastic show has been on hiatus since February 4. (For those keeping track, the new episode will air on April 1. Yes. It’s a long time.)

This Thursday marks the show’s return and next week’s episode (which I WILL be mentioning again) is the (SPOILER) 100th which has gotten HUGE speculation. (When I say huge, I mean HUGE. As in, too big to even link to every single article written about it huge.)

The thing that makes this show SO great is (once again) the guy/girl dynamic. However, this one is stronger and more loveable than just about any guy/girl dynamic on television right now. The two stars (David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel, right) are both sizzling hot and have amazing chemistry together.

The show revolves around Dr. Temperance Brennan (Deschanel), a forensic anthropoligist in Washington D.C. Boreanaz plays FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth, who partners with Brennan – whom he lovingly calls “Bones” – to solve murders. In my opinion, this non-maybe-someday-couple could be added to the list of “Greatest Fictional TV Lovers” along with Ross and Rachel from Friends, Mulder and Scully from The X-Files, and even Lucy and Ricky Ricardo.

I added in this week’s promo below, but to put in perspective how much people love Booth and Bones together? I searched “Booth and Bones” on Youtube, and I got 4,430 results. Gotta love it.

3. CSI  Thursdays at 9 p.m. (THIS WEEK AT 10 p.m.) on CBS

This isn’t a new show, nor does it really have a compelling boy-girl will they-won’t they storyline. But, its the original CSI. It’s a classic – or will be whenever it finally gets off the air. (For the record, it’s currently in its 10th season.)

Followers of the show – including me and my dad – know that Gil Grissom (played by William Petersen, in picture above) left and got replaced by Dr. Ray Langston. This week’s episode has Ray and Nick (Stokes) working a case involving a popular fetish. Meanwhile, Catherine (Willows, seen in picture above) and Detective Vartann “grow closer” during a 24-hour stakeout in a hotel.

There are 8 more episodes this season, and shall play out from now on week after week. Should be exciting!
