There is only a week left until the 44th annual Super Bowl!
Even if you don’t care about football, you know that’s a big deal. And I’ve known quite a few people that have watched the biggest game all year for one reason: commercials.
The Super Bowl airs the best commercials, and most people seem to care about that more than the game.
Now, as a NFL fan myself, I have seen many football-inspired commercials leading up to the grand-daddy of all commercials. The best ones seem to come from Coors Light, with its fake press conferences and coach commentary. Others? Come from one of this years Super Bowl quarterbacks, Peyton Manning.
Below are some of my personal favorites….and everybody watch the Super Bowl! Sunday February 7, at 6 p.m. Eastern Time on CBS!
There’s no worse feeling then sitting home on a Friday night and having nothing on TV to watch.
Luckily, the good people at cable TV have done a great job at creating these guilty pleasure reality TV shows. If you’re interested in the best ones to watch, here are some that I’ve found to be extremely entertaining.
The best part of the show, though, is the staff. Dr. Drew Pinksy is a real hero to these people – always there and caring enough to follow and take care of patients. And, of course, my personal hero of the show: Shelley Sprague. Shelley is known as “Shelley the Shark” to most of the patients at the Pasadena Recovery Center, she does not take crap from anybody. A former addict herself, Shelley knows all the tricks and basically runs the center herself. You’d have to see her in action, but she will always take care of business.
Any of the Real Housewives shows are good. They are all about HI-LARIOUS “housewives” that seem to spend their days shopping and eating and their nights at some form of a dinner party.
This is one of those shows that you skim by and think, “Wow. That’s a show? Who would watch that?!”
Cut to three hours later and you can’t watch anything else. “What? Sorry, I can’t go out to dinner. Why not? I’ve got to see if Maci and Ryan get back together!”
Trust me. Once you watch this show once, there’s no going back. Each teen mom has their own storylines and own stuff going on, and while it can be sad for some (like Catelynn), others can be just down right entertaining.
Check out this clip of Gary and Amber, for example:
So there’s a sneak peek into the wonderful world of guilty pleasures. Anytime you find yourself sitting home and not wanting to leave, turn on one of these shows and try not to get addicted.

Here’s the 411: This blog is to discuss any and all things television. As a big supporter of television – and I mean big; epic; huge…any and all other synonyms for the word “big” – I find this to be a very exciting opportunity.
I hope this to be a chance to reminisce on old TV experiences, new TV thrills, and of course any and all memorable occasions that can be tuned in on anytime, anyplace.
Let’s start with some big TV news that just broke over at Entertainment Weekly earlier today.
UGLY BETTY HAS BEEN CANCELLED!
That’s right. Everybody’s favorite prime time crazed magazine worker is going to end her adventures this season. Ratings have been down, the show has been moved to different days and times trying to fit ABC’s schedule and finally the network has had enough.
For any of you that don’t know what Ugly Betty is, check out this YouTube compilation of funny bits of season 3:
