Back on schedule!! Let’s get to it!
The TV Land Awards have been just a fun, silly show that always seem to have an entertaining opening.
The thing that makes this year so special is the lineup they have.
The awards tonight will honor Mel Brooks, Carl Reiner and the cast of Glee; the cast of Everybody Loves Raymond will also be reunited; and the late Farrah Fawcett will be honored by her Charlie’s Angels co-stars Jaclyn Smith and Cheryl Ladd.
It should be an interesting night, full of laughs and tears – and as a fan of everyone previously mentioned, I am sure looking forward to it.
I say it like this because I was a huge fan up until the end of season 2 when my favorite agent, Kate Todd, *SPOILER* was killed. Since then, I have only watched here and there – and any repeats that have Kate in it. (The show is currently in its seventh season.)
Since then, the show has hired a new female agent (Ziva David) whom everyone has grown to like – except me, whose still angry about Kate’s demise.
This week’s epiosde marks a first for the show – the first time that boss, Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs takes a polygraph test. Gibbs is a hard-ass, no-nonsense guy and it’s better to be with him than against him. He makes a great character, however, and it should be interesting to see how it plays out.
3. The Mentalist Thursday 10 p.m on CBS
This is an interesting show about “a bogus TV psychic who got his family murdered by the serial killer he pretended to profile.” He now uses his ability to read people to help catch criminals through the California Bureau of Investigation.
This week’s episode revolves around a “Self Realization Center” – a cult, really – and how the leader of it (played by A Clockwork Orange’s Malcolm McDowell) gets under Patrick Jane (Simon Baker)’s skin.
It all relates back to his family’s murder, and it should be very interesting how it is all played out.
